Reflections...

Dear Ingrid,

Your daddy took this beautiful picture of you during our latest trip to the Children's Museum and I think it captures you perfectly. Your adorably sweet face, inquisitive nature, and gentle spirit (look at how delicate your hand is!). I would love to know what you were thinking in this moment...

I know I tell you this daily, but I want you to know that I mean it from the bottom of my heart -- you make me so happy. I never thought being a mommy would be so wonderful...and I think it's wonderful because we were given you. I smile thinking of how you've inherited my stubbornness and Daddy's people-pleasing tendencies. You have my laugh and his humor. My love of stories and his keen intelligence.

But you're more than just a combination of our traits. You're so uniquely...Ingrid. You're inquisitive, gentle, loving, funny, thoughtful, shy, strong...basically amazing. This is nothing new. I've told you and many others this many times before, but sometimes I just sit back and stare at you and am amazed all over again at how lucky I am to have you, and your Daddy, in my life. You're the greatest thing I've ever done, and I'll forever be thankful that I get the honor of being your mommy.

Love you forever,

Mommy
